3 photographic strategies to help you generate more bookings

photographic strategies

From Chekin we have always insisted that one of the most important aspects for you to be successful, increasing the number of guests and reservations, is to have a good marketing, a good promotion of your accommodation, which will not be possible if you do not have photographs that transmit what the guest wants to live or would like to live in your accommodation.

If you dare to take pictures on your own, we encourage you to do so, but it is necessary that you get informed beforehand to really generate sales. Whether you want to make sure that the professional’s photos are good or if you prefer to do it yourself, these tips will help you to sell your accommodation better by giving life to your photos:

3 photographic strategies:

1- Plan the session: don’t just start taking pictures without a plan

You have to make a photo reportage that awakens the interest and desire to book your potential clients. Spend time and create a script that will help you persuade them by making them dream, look for the elements of each room that can differentiate you and make your accommodation special. The key is to create spaces, both for you to photograph and upload the photos to the web and for tourists to want to take beautiful photos in your accommodation and share them on their social networks, thus boosting your visibility without investment.

2- Prepare the scenes as if you were a interior designer. Focus in guest experience

Organize the spaces well and take care of every detail focusing as guest experience expectations. Try with each scene to make your customers feel everything they can enjoy in your accommodation and in the environment.
The must-haves:
– Photograph the strong points of each room (views, spaciousness…) always with bed linen without wrinkles and towels well folded.
– Open curtains and blinds to let in natural light.
– Don’t forget to photograph the bathrooms with their amenities well presented, horizontal and clear photographs here too!
– The pool with the sun loungers arranged with some refreshing drinks
– A very appetizing breakfast table set with care, with natural and local products.
– A delicious barbecue lit and integrated in a natural landscape.
– The fireplace lit, along with a basket of firewood prepared and a hot drink on the bedside table.
– Take some close-up photos of details that you offer and set you apart.

3- Give the spaces a sense of spaciousness

Although we take pictures of some details, for the most part, we have to photograph complete spaces (photograph the room by taking a piece of the bed with the views and not just the bed and the bedside table). To get a greater amplitude try photographing from the corners and at half height but never use the fisheye to get to show everything or show an unrealistic oversized amplitude!
