A few months ago we thought that the covid was beginning to disappear, we were even beginning to relax, we relied on a vaccination system that, although slow, was beginning to have its effects. However, the virus is reappearing in our lives, recently with a new variant “Delta” that we do not know how aggressive it is.
Despite this, people continue to travel, they have not allowed this to ruin their plans, always with care, but trying to enjoy this strange normality that the pandemic has left us. Thus, the TravelgateX platform shows us the current statistics of the movements of travelers to other countries:
In this sense, we see that the United States once again occupies number 1 within the top 5, after being several weeks below Spain, with 30.37% of bookings, increasing this last week 9.68% more than last year. For its part, Spain is positioned in second place, with 29.59%, but with a small decrease of 3.9% compared to last year. In third place, we find Italy with 5.52% of reservations, but like Spain with a slight decrease in its reservations compared to last year, exactly 1.49% less. The fourth place is occupied by Portugal, which has remained in this position for several weeks, with 4.51% of global reserves, also with red numbers, this time with 4.57% less than last year, they are not very positive numbers for these countries. The fifth place is occupied this time by the United Kingdom with 2.98% of global reserves and an increase of 1.63% this week compared to last year, which makes it gain ground against France, removing it from the number 5 position.
It is curious that the United Kingdom, being one of the countries with the greatest restrictions when traveling, has managed to increase the number of reservations in recent weeks. Although it is true that tourism is mostly internal, national, the British are determined to leave home and that has made tourism in the country begin to move quickly.
Who are traveling?
As the travelgateX platform shows us, it seems that it is time for couples, this summer couples sweep the reservations, 58.7% of reservations are made by couples, followed by 14% of people who travel alone, and another 14% traveling as a family.
How long are you booking?
21% of the reservations are being made 15-21 days in advance of the arrival date, we see in this way that people are having more confidence when reserving their accommodations.

Between 2-5 days is the average stay of the guests for this summer, a 49.35% demonstrates it.
