What you should know about Airbnb’s permanent party ban

airbnb party ban

According to official information from Airbnb, it has made a further update to its work against unauthorised parties in Spain over the past 12 months. The platform’s party prevention system has blocked around 26,500 people from booking accommodation in Spain in the last 12 months. This includes approximately 6,600 people in Madrid. The new data shows that in the two years since its launch, the technology has blocked 72,500 people from booking in Spain.

Airbnb is working on solutions to prevent unwanted behaviour

While the vast majority of hosts and guests on Airbnb are respectful neighbours and travellers, Airbnb is working on solutions to prevent unwanted behaviour and help prevent problems before they arise. These automated measures were implemented by Airbnb two years ago in Spain to enforce the global party ban rule. This system targets guests under the age of 25 without a history of positive reviews who are trying to book in the same place where they live.

Halloween holiday

Ahead of the Halloween holiday, Airbnb is taking steps to deter unauthorised people from its listings over the Halloween weekend, the home rental service announced on Monday.
The measures prohibit people without a positive review history on the platform from making one-night bookings on entire home listings.
In addition, anyone attempting to rent entire homes without a positive review history, within a given area and/or last-minute bookings, will be redirected to listings that are not entire home listings or blocked altogether, the company said in a press release on Monday.
