Hotel bookings rise this February due to Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is approaching, a date when many take the opportunity to take a romantic getaway. And as every year, it becomes a PERFECT reason to increase your number of reservations.

Couples are choosing hotels on the coast as well as in more urban areas to celebrate this day. The most popular destinations are in the coastal and inland areas of Andalusia as well as in cities like Madrid and Barcelona.

In previous years, the typical getaway was to check into the hotel on the 14th and stay for one night only, although this year there may be an increase in stays from the Friday or Saturday night prior to February 14, taking advantage of the weekend.

A smaller percentage of travelers continue to choose a European getaway to celebrate Valentine’s Day. In this case, the favorites are the classic destinations, such as Rome, Venice, London and Paris.

The average hotel booking for Valentine’s Day is between 15 and 20 days in advance, although a spike in bookings is expected in the 3 or 4 days prior to the date.
