This is how the reservations are going this week in Europe and USA

As every week, today we inform you about how the hospitality market is fluctuating in the world. This time, we make a comparison of the reservations that travelers have made this week of July compared to the previous year, which will show us if we advance or regress compared to the previous year.

Thus travelgateX shows us the recent top 10 of the countries with the highest reservations:

Thus we observe that Spain remains in the first place of the countries with the largest reserves in the world. Spain remains at 32%, but this week it has fallen 6% compared to the previous year. For its part, the United States, remains in second place with 26% of reservations, unlike Spain, this second week of July if it obtained an increase of 6% compared to 2020. In third and fourth place we have Italy and Greece, with 5% and 4% respectively. However, Italy this week had a small decline of 0.77%. In fifth place, we have Portugal, which is positioned with 3% but which has unfortunately been declining in its reserves due to the recent announcements of the government to resume the state of alarm over the new delta variant.

Among the most visited cities or regions we find:

In the first place we have Andalusia with 9% of reservations, although with a slight decrease of 0.94% compared to last year. This decrease is due to the alert that is generated of a possible fifth wave in the country. In second place, we have the city of Florida with 5.88% and a rebound of 3.25% compared to last year. In the third, fourth and fifth place we find cities in Spain, the community of the Balearic Islands, Catalonia and the Canary Islands, all with percentages above 4%.

Regarding the fluctuation of cancellations TravelgateX shows us the following graph:

The percentages remain positive compared to the month of August, despite the fact that the percentage of cancellation in the month of July is high, represented by 40%, reservations exceeded this figure with almost 60%. We can see in the graph how the cancellation percentages fluctuate in subsequent months, maintaining percentages similar to the reservations.
