Hotels approve salary increase of up to 4%
As reported by the hotel employers’ association of the province of Alicante, on May 28 an agreement was reached to extend the collective bargaining agreement for the year 2022, which covers workers in the hotel sector, with the difference that it was agreed to increase by 4.5% all the remuneration concepts expressed in the articles of the agreement.
Among the main features of this agreement are the following:
- One year of extension with a validity from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2023.
- Wage revision 4.5% from January 1, 2022.
- Inflation deviation review clause deferred to the 2023 tables and limited to a maximum deviation point.
- The payment of arrears under this agreement will be made at the latest in the August payroll for workers in the sector.
In addition, some regulatory points of the current text have been amended to adapt them to the labor reform, as well as incorporating the occupational disease within the contingencies of coverage in situations of Temporary Incapacity (TI).
As reported by HOSBEC, “from this moment on, the signatory organizations have committed themselves to the following:
– “To apply the new remuneration framework on a preferential basis, without waiting for its publication in the BOPA, giving due publicity and knowledge to all the companies in the sector”.
– “To prepare a consolidated text of the collective bargaining agreement for a better teaching of managers and consultants who apply the agreement every day”.
– “To resume the negotiation process once the summer season is over, with the aim of preparing the matters that have to be part of the new collective agreement that has to come into force as from January 1, 2023”.
In this negotiation, “HOSBEC has had a business representation of 70% of the sector and has had the continued support of both the Hotel Association of Alicante APHA, the Association of Employers of the Marina Alta AEHTMA and the Provincial Association of Hospitality Alicante APEHA,” says the entity.
