The COVID-19 crisis presents a unique opportunity to collaborate on reviving the industry and only progress upwards from here on .With the aim of “empowering the voice of the smallest operators in the travel ecosystem”, Airbnb, EaseMyTrip, OYO and Yatra have come together to support and create a new association: the Confederation of the Hospitality, Technology and Tourism Sector. Tourism (CHATT). The objective of CHATT is to promote national tourism, lead the digital transformation of business and operational models related to tourism, participate proactively through promotional programs, provide training and launch beneficial programs for all industry segments, as explained by the founding companies in a statement.
All members will be able to access all the resources and benefits of CHATT, including participation in annual programs or business events. The association was born in India and is made up of start-up founders and CEOs such as Amanpreet Bajaj, Managing Director for India, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan of Airbnb; Nishant Pitti, Co-Founder and CEO of EaseMyTrip.com; Rohit Kapoor, Managing Director of OYO India and Southeast Asia, and Dhruv Shringi, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Yatra.com.
