These are 6 keys to recover hotel tourism in Spain
Recently a festival was held in Spain by the Spanish Confederation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodation (CEHAT), which it should be noted had been closed by the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Reyes Maroto. The “urgent measures” for recovery are:

- Inclusion of “risk of exposure” within the vaccination criteria in all sectors and the collaboration of mutuals in the process to optimize resources and exponentially multiply protection against the virus.
- Balance update at no cost to avoid insolvency problems.
- Limitation of abusive clauses by marketing platforms.
- The extension of the term of the mortgage moratoriums in the payment of the repayment of the principal, with the extension of this mechanism to other financing products.
- Limitation to the uncontrolled explosion of the supply of housing for tourist use.
During his speech, Maroto presented the protection instruments put in place by the Government during all these months to combat the pandemic and its effects, such as the vaccination process, the success in the extension of the ERTE and the direct aid to companies managed by the autonomous communities.
The minister also recalled the efforts of her department to “communicate within and, above all, outside our borders that Spain is a safe destination” and defended the need to develop elements that guarantee safe mobility such as the digital COVID certificate.
The hoteliers thanked the minister for “permanent contact during all these months” and shared their concern about the delay in the arrival of foreign visitors. Remember that currently 80% of reservations in Spain are made by Spanish.
