As every week we keep you informed of how the tourism sector in the world is fluctuating, this time, we make a comparison of the reservations that travelers have made in this month of August, compared to the previous year, which will show us if we advance or regress compared to the previous year and if this has been a good summer.
This is how travelgateX shows us the recent top 10 of the countries with the highest reservations:
Thus, we observe that the United States is once again in first place and dethroned Spain, with 31.89% of the world’s reserves, and with an increase of 7.51% compared to 2020. Spain remains in second place with 26.75% of the world’s reserves, but this week it has fallen by 3.7% compared to the previous year. For its part, Great Britain surprisingly occupies the number 3 place, after spending so much time in positions after the sixth place, it seems that it is back again with the so-called staycations of the British that are the ones that make life the most in this summer full of restrictions , occupies this third position with 4.8% of% compared to the previous year. In fourth place we have Italy with 4.57% of the world’s reserves, a decrease of 0.44%, it is not a very high figure, but significant because it places it below the United Kingdom. In fifth place, we have Portugal, which is positioned with 4.51%, a slight difference compared to the United Kingdom, despite the limitations this country continues to grow and is among the first.

In the first place we have Andalusia with 7.39% of the reserves, although with a slight decrease of 2.28% compared to last year. This decrease is due to the alert generated by the delta variant.
