Welcome Pack: 6 essentials to include

What is a vacation rental’s Welcome Pack and what is it for?

Welcome Pack is a selection of gifts so that your guests can enjoy a warm welcome. It can be a mix of necessities, special snacks, or even essentials travelers use to forget and forget. They include instructions on how to enjoy the rental and as in local recommendations ( normally in a guidebook format). Welcome Packs are meant for improving the guest’s experience the moment they walk into your vacation rental.

A Personal Note

This is the easiest addition to any Welcome Basket, and quite possibly the item that your guests will appreciate the most. Everyone likes to feel appreciated after all. This doesn’t have to be hand written. It just has to say hello and  thank your guest for their visit. It might also reference a few goodies that you’ve left.

Personalized Depending on the time of the year

Whatever snacks you leave in your vacation rental, keep them seasonal.  Winter gift packages can play to the theme of hot chocolate and mulled wine, whereas summer gift packages can include sunscreen, inflatable beach balls, etc. The key is to provide gifts that you may think guests essential because they might have forgotten to purchase them. This way, will seem like the rescuer for their forgotten items.

Travel guide with recommendations

Create a local map with local restaurants and attractions highlighted. Along with the personalized map, you can include a gift card for them to enjoy one of your recommendations.

If it’s your guests’ first time in town, they will appreciate your personal recommendations of typical places in town to visit, or which restaurants they can go to for a meal. The experience will always be better if the recommendations are yours.

Essentials

Basic essentials, like toilet paper, towels, soap, and linens, should be considered the bare minimum of what you provide. Make sure you leave enough stock of these items for your guests’ stay.

Since you won’t like your guests to run out of toilet paper, it would be reasonable to keep a decent supply of these essentials, as well as  paper towels, dish and laundry soaps, garbage bags, new sponges, and a small assortment of beverages, like a few bottled waters and individual coffees or teas with the essential condiments.

Hygiene Items

The COVID-19 situation has changed  society’s behavior. Considering this, include items such as complimentary masks, hand sanitizers, and a small package of disinfectant wipes. Having these items on hand will help your guest relax at the property and, also, while sightseeing.

Personalization

If you have some insight into your guests’ travel plans or any special occasions they might be planning,  use that info for a thoughtful, customized welcome.

If you know there will be children at  a  travel party, consider leaving new bath toys, puzzle books, stuffed animals, nightlights, pool toys, fruit snacks, and juice boxes.

For honeymooning couples, a bath set, flowers and bathrobes.

If you offer a pet-friendly rental, leave a few treats and toys.
